Style Story: An Intimate Alternative
I. Love. Boudoir.
There. I said it. If you know, photographing boudoir images for women is one of my (Carissa’s) favorite things to shoot. It’s empowering. Ladies celebrating ladies, ya know??
The only issue is, no one knows that I do it (and I’m pretty dang good at it too!) because the women I usually shoot for are brides and they want to give these images to their husbands as a secret surprise, which I totally understand and respect!
SO! I decided to start taking pictures of girls who wouldn’t mind my sharing them! This is the first of many sweet boudoir shoots that I’ll be diving into.
For this session in particular I collaborated with several talented ladies: Kyla Donner of Genuine & Ginger, who supplied the incredible jewelry, along with Alanna Garcia of Betty Rose by Alanna who did a phenomenal job on makeup. Jordan (our model) is a hair artist, so I was thrilled to see that she had taken care of her own hair! Lastly, Girlie Bird & Co. very generously allowed us to use their beautiful space! I sourced wardrobe from Urban Outfitters and Forever 21 and we were ready to rock and roll! I shot hybrid for these images, which was a bit tricky, but I’m really excited about the results!
