Gritty & Personal Pittsburgh Engagement: Bryan & Emily

Gritty & Personal Pittsburgh Engagement: Bryan & Emily

Couple: Bryan & Emily

Bryan and Emily met through work. They were both born and raised in the Pittsburgh area and their engagement session really reflected their personalities. They are having a non-traditional wedding and wanted their engagement session to reflect that.

We started out at Carrie Furnaces, the former blast furnace for a derelict steel mill just outside of town. After exploring there (including inside the former worker’s locker room with its bright weather-beaten lockers), we headed to Lawrenceville and worked around the neighborhood and in alleys. Emily and Bryan enjoy fixing up old homes and rejuvenating Pittsburgh in that way. Emily’s Lawrenceville renovation is now fully complete – so she and Bryan are on to their next project.

We made our final stop their new married home in Spring Hill – which was under construction too, so we were able to get a lot of fun images in the empty house, which captures this exciting time of transition in their lives.
