Couple: Al & Holly
Al and Holly met on Match.com, “We are the embodiment of those commercials,” she exclaimed. Holly saw that he “favorited” her profile, and when she read about his love for writing and deep compassion for animals, she was sold! After just one date, they couldn’t see enough of each other. “Al was the only one I ever agreed to go out with on Match, and I’m so glad I was so picky,” she smiled. Holly knew a proposal was in the works, ever since she relocated to Las Vegas, where Al was living. “I only had one request for him when he was planning his proposal, and that was that he couldn’t spend any money,” Holly said. “I didn’t want a big to-do; I just wanted to be engaged to the man I love so deeply.” On a toasty summer morning, Holly woke up early and was downstairs in the dining area, petting one of their cats. Al approached and nonchalantly said, “Oh I’ve been meaning to ask you something…” It was 5am, and Holly had no idea what was coming. Then he lowered to one knee and asked Holly the question she’d been waiting for since the very first day they’d met! “It was just him, me and our cats, and that’s all I ever wanted,” she said. When planning their wedding, most of their guests that were invited were from out-of-state, so it was most important to Holly, to make the reception as fun and memorable as possible so it would be a party worth the thousands of miles traveled! When trying to settle on a theme, Holly & Al wanted to pull a little bit from both their personalities. Al served in the US Navy, and Holly always had a love for the Caribbean, so they settled on a “Sailors and Mermaids” wedding theme. “Our colors were navy blue, turquoise and orange, with octopus accents,” she smiled. My favorite detail which really encapsulated their theme, were their gorgeous paper flowers. The brides bouquet even featured a flower made from a map of the Carribean sea!
