Style Story: Mid-Century, Modern, and Married
Walking into this mid-century mod styled shoot was like walking back into refinement, with a bit of a twist. Champagne coupes clinked in anticipation, while vintage Life magazines were stacked and the geometric metallics arranged… it seemed as though the candlestick telephone might actually ring.
No styling can touch what Bello & Blue did with the hues and textures of America’s 1950s, seamlessly intertwined with the elegance of contemporary trends. Unctuous oranges filled the room, while pops of fuschia livened the space – golds, creams, and blacks grounding the look in class and timelessness. Lindsey, Bello & Blue’s lead planner, collected an eclectic set of vintage purses, hat pins, a fur stole and knick-knacks for an authentic look. Scott, our lighting pro, projected a honeycomb of luminance above the twinkling fireplace and cast moody tones upon the bar. We were lucky enough to be hosted by a brand new Denver, Colorado wedding venue, Venue 221: a mid-century modern inspired, intimate location for the sophisticated bride and groom. Natalie and Teddy, a real-life engaged couple, graced us with their vibrant presence, loving gazes, and playful poses as our “bride and groom” – the perfect representation of the fun and sophistication we aimed for.
This stylish wedding inspiration shoot was rounded out with blooms by Plum Sage Flowers, furniture by Design Event Decor, rentals by Event Rents, linens by Chair Covers and Linens, an invitation suite by M K Mint, a gown from Felice Bridal, men’s attire from Ted’s Clothier, hair by Chelsea Garcia Beauty, and makeup from Blush Artistry. FROM THE PLANNER: We drew inspiration from the iconic original martinique wallpaper in the Beverly Hills hotel. A palm inspired pattern was incorporated in the stationery, while an arrangement of large banana leaves accented our lounge vignettes with a nod to old hollywood glamour.
